Testing the Connection Between Agent and Paygate
You can test the connection between your local copy of Agent and the Paygate Service. Click the button ‘Test SFTP’ which can be found in the Connections page of the Configuration tool, accessible by switching to SFTP mode and selecting the “Use Existing Settings” option.
This will start the communications test procedure. The procedure contains the following steps:
- The Agent attempts to connect to the Paygate SFTP server using the current service address and port.
- The Agent attempts to authenticate to the SFTP server using the current authentication settings.
- The Agent attempts to initialise a connection to the SFTP server.
Results of the test are logged in the Agent Log Viewer. A successful test in which communications are fully working between Agent and Paygate should look like the following:
Any errors are also logged in the Log Viewer helping you to determine the cause of the problem. For example, in the image below, an incorrect passphrase has been supplied for the private key file:
In the results shown below, the connection was established but there is a problem with the login credentials:
