Mapping Designer

Overview

The Mapping Designer is a visual tool for creating and editing mappings:

• A mapping is a way to connect the data that was imported from a file (using an importer) into data ready for processing, for example a BACS Submission.
• A mapping can be use to reformat data such as capitalising text, changing from US to UK date format or many other common tasks.
• A mapping can be used to modify data such as using basic arithmetic on numbers or string manipulation.
• A mapping can be use to mix data from file with data stored in payagte such as bank accounts or group information.

Accessing the Designer

In order to view and edit mappings, in the mapping Designer, a user must have the ‘Manager Mapping’ role. If you don’t have this role you won’t be able to access the Mapping Designer page. If applicable, speak to your paygate administrator to request the required role.
