Licensing Workflow

Licensing Workflow

Enabling Workflow.

Before workflow can be used you must license it. There are three parts to Workflow licensing:

Concurrent Live Workflows.

The number of concurrent, live workflows is controlled by your licence. If you have a licence that allows 5 concurrent workflows then only 5 workflows, that are attached to triggers, can be live (able to be executed) at any one time.

Note: There is no limit on the number of workflows you can create and save on the system. The restriction is on how many of those workflows can be enabled at the same time. Only enabled workflows can be executed autonomously by the workflow engine.

Trigger Frequency

The frequency that a workflow can be triggered is controlled by your licence. If your licence states that the workflow frequency is 15 minutes then an individual workflow cannot be executed twice in any given 15 minute period.

For example, say you had a workflow that triggered every 5 minutes. The first time the workflow was triggered would result in the workflow executing. However when the workflow would be blocked from running again until 15 minutes after that last successful execution. In reality there is a small grace period of around 10%.

The trigger frequency can be easily changed to a number of settings. If you require a workflow to execute at a higher frequency, say every minute, please contact your account manager.

Available frequencies are:
